Headcanon-ry
Pokémon tends to be kinda stingy with details on a lot of characters (and of course avoids NSFW topics), so when you play them you have to fill in blanks. Should any of these interfere with any official canon that comes out later, away they will go. Bullet form for peak lazy:
⭑ In official works he fingers the pendant on his choker often. I headcanon this as a tell of his that he's nervous, so it's a bit of a comfort thing.
⭑ Piers and Marnie's parents were very much absent. Piers took it on himself to raise Marnie from a young age, and this is what originally led to him becoming a trainer. It was always supposed to be temporary to earn living money, but it turned out Piers was REAL GOOD at it and before he knew it he wasn't just caring for his sister but in a way HIS WHOLE TOWN. A lot of pressure for a teenager, but he felt if he didn't nobody else would.
⭑ While yes his aesthetic is very punk rock, he doesn't consider himself beholden to any one style of music and has also written his share of slow ballads. It's about where his muse takes him.
⭑ He's not a virgin, but he's never been in love and has had mostly one night stands. He had convinced himself he didn't have time for love, Marnie and Spikemuth needed all his time and energy. Secondly he probably thinks he'd be an awful boyfriend anyway.
